MULATA Luxury Café, Corralejo
MULATA is on Plaza Patricio Calero, a pedestrian square with no traffic, which you really appreciate when you're travelling with children. It also has a big terrace and a lovely atmosphere, one of those places where you want to sit down with no rush and enjoy your breakfast.
It was pretty full when we arrived, so booking ahead turned out to be a very good idea. After trying the menu we understood straight away why it has become one of the places to go for breakfast or brunch in Corralejo.

Inside, MULATA is elegant, beautifully done and genuinely pretty, all greens and plants and little details that give it a lot of charm. And although everything is clearly thought through, it doesn't feel pretentious at all: you can turn up in flip-flops after a day at the beach and feel perfectly at home.

What we ordered
The menu at MULATA is a big one: breakfasts, brunch, pancakes, toasts, bowls, juices, smoothies and a good selection of speciality coffees. This is what we had:
- Pistachio pancakes and white chocolate pancakes. They were delicious and we're already looking forward to going back for them.
- Salmon toast and serrano ham toast. Both come with avocado, though our youngest asked for hers without.
- A blueberry and cashew smoothie, smooth and not at all sickly.
- Iced pistachio latte, strawberry matcha latte and iced caramel latte. Easily the most Instagram-friendly part of the menu.

MULATA isn't just pretty décor and photogenic plates. Everything we tried was genuinely good, and for us that's what makes the difference. Finding a place that looks after the look of things and gets the food right too isn't always easy.

Tip
If you're a couple or a family, order one sweet stack and one savoury toast and share them: the portions are generous and that way you get to try both. And book, especially if you want the terrace.
How much does breakfast at MULATA cost?
It isn't a cheap café, but the prices aren't out of proportion for what you get either. The portions are generous and you can tell they care about the quality of what they use.
So you have an idea, these are the menu prices for what we ordered:
| What we ordered | Price |
|---|---|
| Pistachio pancakes | €9.90 |
| White chocolate pancakes | €9.90 |
| Salmon toast | €11.90 |
| Serrano ham toast | €11.90 |
| Blueberry and cashew smoothie | €8.50 |
| Iced pistachio latte | €5.60 |
| Strawberry matcha latte | €5.60 |
| Iced caramel latte | €5.60 |
| Total | €68.90 |
So around €70 for two adults and two children, with a speciality drink each. You can see the full menu and all the prices on their website.

The story behind MULATA
Behind MULATA Luxury Café are Dragan and Maja, a couple from Maribor, Slovenia, who decided to bring their project all the way to Fuerteventura.
MULATA started in Slovenia, where they opened their first café in 2012. When they moved to the island they closed that one and, in December 2024, opened the Corralejo café. Over time the project has grown into Mulata Collection, which today brings together boutique apartments, MULATA Luxury Café and a beauty studio and spa.
And I think knowing that story helps you understand the concept much better once you walk in. It isn't simply a pretty café, it's a family project where they've put a lot of care into how it looks, how they look after you and the whole experience.
While we were there we also got to meet Dragan, who looked after us through breakfast. And I have to say his service was spot on: warm, attentive and on top of everything.

What to know before you go
Breakfast is only served until 3pm
Note
The café is open from 8am to 10.30pm, but the breakfast and brunch menu is served from 8am to 3pm. After that they switch to the afternoon menu, so if you're going for the pancakes, go in the morning.
Parking around here is tricky
MULATA is right in the centre of Corralejo, in a pedestrian area, and parking around here is hard work. The same thing happened to us when we went to La Pulpería, which is a couple of streets away: we drove around for a good while and ended up leaving the car a long way off. Give yourself time.
Is MULATA worth it for breakfast?
We loved MULATA. The place is beautiful, decorated with real taste and with a lovely atmosphere, but the best part is that the food lives up to it. Everything we tried was very good and the service was attentive and warm. We came away delighted and we're already looking forward to going back for those pancakes.
